Heller said military should be able to carry guns on base

In the wake of the shootings in Tennessee, Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev., has requested military commanders be authorized to let service members carry personal firearms on base.He said he made the request in light of several shootings on military installations including this past week’s shooting in Chattanooga that killed four marines and one sailor.“Never should the men and women serving at home have to be afraid that the base they work and often live on is not safe,” he said.…
