Flooding causes problems for trails, roads

Parts of Dayton experienced flash flooding Tuesday night.The Mark Twain/Dayton area between Virginia City and the Carson River experienced significant flash flooding after severe thunderstorms around 8:30 p.m., said Dustin Homan, Road Supervisor for Lyon County Public Works said. Crews were out until about 1 a.m. clearing debris, unclogging storm drains and trying to get the water to flow better. Homan said there was no significant property damage from the flooding, though there was some floodi
