Community spotlight: Junior Giants program in works

The Carson City Parks and Recreation Department is establishing a Junior Giants baseball program.The program is entering its 23rd season. The co-ed program is for youths between the ages of 5 and 18. It gives boys and girls a chance to learn the basics of the game in a fun, non-stressful environment. Games will be played at the Pete Livermore Sports Complex. The program runs from June though August 5. Games are played Monday through Friday.Volunteers are needed and must pass a background check.
