Carson City Sheriff’s Office issues 26 citations at checkpoint

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office handed out more than two dozen citations during a DUI and compliance checkpoint Saturday.The checkpoint lasted nearly five hours Saturday on William Street near Mills Park. Deputies stopped vehicles randomly to check for impaired drivers, check for driver’s licenses and inform drivers on the dangers of distracted driving. The purpose of the event was to educate and create safe roadways, said Sgt. Scott McDaniel.This is the first time the Sheriff&rsqu
