Carson City open space to be closed nights due to vandalism

Carson River Canyon Open Space will soon be closed from dusk to dawn. Earlier this month about $5,500 in damages was caused when five city signs in the area were destroyed, including a 1,600-pound monument sign pulled out of the ground about a mile inside the canyon and dragged out and dumped in a parking area across Deer Run Road.
