54-year-old inmate jailed for a drug conviction dies

Prison officials say a 54-year-old inmate jailed for less than a month on a drug conviction has died. The Nevada Department of Corrections said Martin Jones died Wednesday at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center’s medical facility in Carson City. The agency says Jones went to prison May 8 and was serving a sentence of up to two years for possession of a controlled substance.
