Local congregations have long stepped up church security

For many, the tragedy in Charleston was especially heartbreaking because of where it happened. The nine victims were at their church, a place where most people feel safe and at peace. Some say nothing can be taken for granted, and many local congregations have long ramped up security to protect themselves.
