Barry Appoints Chief Diversity Officer

Following through on a campaign pledge to install an administration official to oversee diversity in Metro government, Mayor Megan Barry announced Friday morning her appointment of Michelle Hernandez-Lane as Chief Diversity Officer. The mayor's office says Hernandez-Lane will "lead the implementation of Mayor Barry's agenda to ensure that all parts of Metro Government are diverse and inclusive."
