Sheriff's ranks swell with new hires

Hosmer, a Modesto native, attended Modesto Junior College and is a former law enforcement explorer with the Modesto Police Department, where he also served as a volunteer. He graduated from the Contra Costa Sheriff's Academy in February 2015 and worked in private security in Modesto before being hired by the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office in September.
