Questions loom after Lincoln mom shot dead by alleged stalker

"In one break-in, a knife was used to stab (Renee O'Neal's) bed repeatedly, and in another break-in, he did steal a gun from her." So how was Jerrod Hill able to still gain access to the Lincoln mom?
