For first time, Hood faces same headwinds as other Mississippi Democrats

Eric J. Shelton/Mississippi Today, Report For AmericaAttorney General Jim Hood performed at about the same levels among African American voters who went to the polls as did Mike Espy in the 2018 U.S. Senate special election runoff.
The still unofficial results from Tuesday’s gubernatorial election look strikingly similar to last years’ United States Senate special election runoff between Republican Cindy Hyde-Smith and Democrat Mike Espy.
In that election, 907,588 votes were cast wit
