Dangerous Heat This Weekend, Storms Possible This Evening

Holmes County, much of western Mississippi and the coast will be under a heat advisory today with the high in Durant this afternoon forecast to reach 101.  Carthage could top out near 100, with highs in Kosciusko and Philadelphia in the upper 90s.  Sunday won’t be quite as hot with upper 90s forecast in Durant, Carthage and Philadelphia and mid 90s in Kosciusko.  With a good chance of rain on Monday, highs should be in the lower 90s areawide.
