​Vertex CEO's compensation, stock value fell in 2016

The CEO of Vertex Pharmaceuticals earned $19.2 million in total compensation plus value realized from past stock awards in 2016, down significantly from the year before.Boston-based Vertex (Nasdaq: VRTX), one of the largest life science firms in the state, said in a federal filing on Monday that CEO Jeff Leiden had earned $17.4 million in total compensation and realized an additional $1.8 million in value from the vesting of restricted stock that he received in prior years.That marks a decrease&
