Storm knocks down trees, brings flooding to Long Beach with more than 2 inches of rain

Friday's storm lived up to the hype, as Long Beach was deluged with heavy rain, winds up to 45 miles per hour, scattered power outages and flooding. Close to 2.5 inches of rain had fallen in Long Beach by about 7 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.The stormy weather knocked down more than three dozen trees across the city, blocking streets and damaging residents' homes and vehicles, according to authorities.
