Police arrest suspected shooter after car chase in Long Beach

Long Beach police arrested a suspected gunman after a short car chase Wednesday night, according to authorities.Officers learned about a shooting around 7:50 p.m. when someone flagged them down in the 400 block of Almond Avenue in Alamitos Beach, police said.The gunfire didn't hit anything, but the witness told officers the man who pulled the trigger was in a nearby car, Long Beach Police Department spokesman Sgt.
