Long Beach bans single-use foam containers for restaurants, food providers

Long Beach leaders approved a ban Tuesday on single-use food and beverage containers made from polystyrene, commonly known as Styrofoam, in an attempt to curb pollution in parks, beaches and waterways. Within three months, the containers will be banned at city facilities and city-permitted events .
