Wienermobile celebrates 90th birthday with stop in Frankfort

Grill-ready Evie and Corndog Carly relished the opportunity of bringing the Wienermobile to Frankfort on Thursday to celebrate its 90th birthday.
Designed in 1936 by Carl G. Mayer, nephew of Oscar Mayer, the 13-foot metal hot dog on wheels was constructed in Chicago to promote Oscar Mayer products during the Great Depression.
“The goal of this is to bring joy to people,” Carly Bowden told The State Journal. “We love to bring smiles to people.”
