Shepherd turns autobiography into stage play: ‘His Hand’ opens Friday, Sept. 11

“His Hand” is a story about Betty Shepherd’s life growing up with an abusive alcoholic father in Southeastern Kentucky, the resilience of mountain folk and the Eastern Kentucky flood of 2022.“His Hand” opens at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, at First Presbyterian Church, 416 W.
