Gary Gayheart

Gary Ray Gayheart, age 87, of Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away on Sept. 1, 2026.He was born in Floyd County, Kentucky, to Ray E. and Audrey Fraley Gayheart on Aug. 5, 1939. He will be remembered as a beloved Papaw who constantly laughed at the antics of his great-grandchildren, and as a proud Kentuckian who loved Eastern Kentucky history and bluegrass music.
Gary, while a staunch homebody, was an avid watcher of UofL, UK and the Chicago Cubs, but always extended his support to any sport or team
