Former Thorntons CFO gets Obama pardon

A Former Thorntons Oil Co. executive was among nearly 70 individuals pardoned by President Barack Obama this week.In 1999, Kevin Hobbs was convicted of conspiring to commit wire fraud and other charges in a scheme that embezzled company funds to use to speculate in the commodities market. At the time, Hobbs was serving as chief financial officer of Louisville-based Thortons Oil Co. He was sentenced to one year of probation in 1999, but according to the Courier-Journal, the crime continued to fol
