State Will Not Participate in SUN Bucks Program Next Year

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana will not participate in the federal SUN Bucks Program in 2027, according to the Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA).The program (also known as Summer EBT) gives low-income families $120 per student to pay for groceries in the summer. It’s meant to fill the gap when kids aren’t getting free meals at school. The state chose to opt out in 2025 and 2026. In 2024, the program helped keep more than 650,000 Indiana children fed.Last year, the FSSA s
