Walmart is leaving Edna, and residents aren't happy
Edna, a small city about 100 miles southwest of Houston, is losing its Walmart. The store, an older model, focused more on merchandise than groceries. And on Friday, the store is scheduled to close, leaving what Jackson County Judge Dennis Simons predicts will be "a great void" for the city of 6,000 residents. It was the main place to shop.
