Valdez, White: Universal background checks for gun buyers

Two leading Democrats running for governor on Saturday called for universal background checks for Texas gun buyers, a move surely to run afoul of Republican supporters of the Second Amendment.Valdez and White also said Abbott should be pushing harder to get the Republican-controlled Congress in Washington to approve the next allocation of Harvey recovery funding.
