UT System latest to consider raising college tuition

Longhorns may have to open their wallets a little wider next year to afford tuition at the University of Texas at Austin. The University of Texas System will consider raising tuition for its academic institutions at a Monday meeting as campuses argue they need more money to invest in career placement, faculty salaries, infrastructure and data analytics tools to monitor outcomes. UT-Austin hopes to pass a 2-percent tuition increase for all undergraduates for fall 2018 and fall 2019.
