Turner holds wide lead over Buzbee in early voting returns

Mayor Sylvester Turner jumped out to a wide lead over Tony Buzbee in the Houston mayoral runoff Saturday evening, staking out a double-digit advantage in early and absentee ballot returns.
The initial results put Turner in position to retain his seat for a second four-year term, after a nearly yearlong campaign in which the mayor was forced into a runoff against Buzbee, a millionaire trial lawyer and businessman.
