Suspected mumps outbreak hits Harris County Jail

As many as 10 inmates showed symptoms of the viral infection, according to sheriff's office spokesman Jason Spencer. The possible outbreak hasn't impacted visitation at any of the jail buildings, and the impacted inmates have been quarantined.
