SpaceX's first test flight of the commercial crew program has returned home

The successful mission is a first for NASA's Commercial Crew Program, which aims to launch Americans from American soil for the first time since the space shuttles were grounded in 2011. Since that time, the U.S. has relied on Russia to ferry its astronauts to and from the space station, at a cost of $81 million per seat.
