Rice study revives idea of consolidating Harris County law enforcement

A new urban studies report released Thursday states that several of Harris County’s overlapping law enforcement jurisdictions could be consolidated to cut costs, including by reallocating duties from the Harris County Constables offices to the sheriff and by sharing technological resources between the agencies.
