Jurors in choking trial aren’t barred from working on Sabbath
Jurors Saturday continued deliberating the fate of Terry Thompson who is on trial for murder in the choking death of a young father during a late-night altercation at a Crosby highway diner.
The jury has deliberated more than 20 hours over three days and may have to work Sunday, according to experts.
The issue has been raised that a court case from the 1930s prohibits jurors from deliberating on the Christian Sabbath. But that prohibition was never codified.
