HPD officer recovering after being shot; suspect dead

A Houston police officer shot Thursday night while struggling with a robbery suspect who was later killed by a fellow officer is recuperating in the hospital as authorities continue to search for another suspect in a brutal crime spree.
The officer, who has not been identifed, will remain hospitalized until at least late next week, Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo said Friday.
