Houston U.S. Rep. proposes bill to help deported man return
Flanked by the family of Jose Escobar, a Houston man who last year became a poster child of President Donald Trump's harsh immigration policies, U.S. Rep. Al Green on Friday announced he would introduce legislation to make it easier for deported immigrants with American families to return. Though Escobar qualifies for a green card through his American wife, congressional bars prevent deported immigrants like him from returning legally for as long as 10 years.
