Free speech squelched on college campuses? Texas senate panel to talk rules, ramifications

The Texas Senate's state affairs committee will hear testimony about college campus free speech later this month at Texas State University. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, a Houston Republican, asked the committee to discuss the issue. One Texas lawmaker, Rep. Briscoe Cain, has suggested that lawmakers should consider cutting the budgets of schools that squelch free speech.
