Former HPD officer goes on trial in murder-for-hire case

A former Houston police officer who was accused of threatening to kill a supervisor in the 1980’s faces life in prison as he begins trial Tuesday, accused of trying to hire assassins to kidnap, sexually assault and kill his estranged wife in 2016.
