Denny’s choking case set to begin second trial
The husband of a fired Harris County deputy is expected Thursday to begin trial on murder charges again, four months after his first trial ended in a mistrial because of a hung jury. The first trial of Terry Thompson, a 42-year-old railroad worker, ended in June when a jury deadlocked on whether he committed murder or acted in self-defense when he choked a fellow patron to death during a late-night confrontation outside a Crosby-area Denny’s restaurant last year, according to his attorney.
