Rearview Mirror: How Hawaii celebrated the bicentennial in 1976

Tomorrow is July 4, the semiquincentennial or 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. I know that is a cause for celebration for many of us in Hawaii, but not all. Some islanders believe the Hawaiian monarchy was overthrown illegally and would like to return to that independent status.
