Powerful storm heads straight for Hawaii

Hawaii residents are strongly urged to finalize preparations today as a storm system brewing less that 1,000 miles from Hilo is expected to bring heavy rain, high winds and dangerous surf to the state, beginning Friday on the Big Island.
