Surfer bitten on foot by shark in Deerfield Beach

A 21-year-old surfer was bitten on the foot Monday while catching some waves in Deerfield Beach.Broward sheriff's fire rescue spokesman Mike Jachles said the man was bitten by a 5-foot spinner shark.He was taken to Broward Health North. His condition has not been released.Authorities have issued a red flag warning in the area. Forecasters also warned people about getting in the water Monday as strong wind gusts increased the potential for dangerous rip currents.Follow Local 10 News on Twitter @W
