Secrets of ‘Alligator Alcatraz' revealed in newly released data analyzed by NBC6 Investigates

Records on more than 6,700 people housed in the Everglades detention center since it opened reveal Gov. Ron DeSantis’ claim in July that all had final orders of deportation was false. In fact, ICE data released in response to a Freedom of Information lawsuit shows only 31% of them had final orders on the day DeSantis made his claim. The governor’s office declined to comment on why he said what he did.
