Man gets life in prison for fatal shooting

A Florida Panhandle man has been sentenced to life in prison for fatally shooting a woman he lived with.An Escambia County judge sentenced Reginald Jerome Smith this past week after a jury found him guilty of second-degree murder.Prosecutors say Smith shot Mary Ann Spencer in the head at the home they shared in January 2008.The Pensacola News Journal reports that a previous conviction was reversed because of an incorrect jury instruction.
