Hundreds of jellyfish invade Hallandale Beach
HALLANDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Hundreds of jellyfish invaded Hallandale Beach Thursday morning. According to the Sun Sentinel, the jellyfish are known as Blue Sailors or "By-the-Wind Sailors. Luckily, they are not the species who sting. Hallandale city workers cleaned up the mess but it's possible they wash ashore again as the heavy waves and tide come in. Purple flags warning swimmers of the jellyfish were also spotted at several South Florida beaches.
