Hoverboard injuries spike in South Florida

Since Christmas, falls from hoverboards - futuristic skateboards at the top of many wish lists - have led to at least 25 cases of fractured and broken wrists or other injuries at hospitals in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties, according to hospital officials. "I think that people need to recognize that injuries can happen on these and that they're not a benign toy," said Dr. Eric Eisner, a pediatric orthopedic surgeon for the Hollywood-based Memorial Health Network.
