Hit-and-run driver strikes, kills pedestrian, Miami police say

A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a hit-and-run driver, Miami police said.The crash happened at 11:45 p.m. Thursday at Northwest 79th Street and Northwest First Avenue.Police said it appears the pedestrian was attempting to cross Northwest 79th Street from south to north when a vehicle traveling west struck him and fled the scene.The victim was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center in extremely critical condition, but died shortly after, according to Miami police.A de
