Elderly woman killed in Miami apartment fire

An elderly woman is dead after an apartment fire in southwest Miami-Dade.
Miami Fire Rescue PIO Ignatius Carrol said crews responded to a fire at 1800 Southwest 25th Street just after 4 a.m. Saturday. Officials confirmed the fire started in the third floor unit where an 83-year-old woman lived with her caretaker.Neighbors told Local 10 News they heard screaming and ran out to help when they noticed the smoke.
