Driver dead after crash on I-595 near U.S. 1

A driver is dead after a crash that shut down a stretch of Interstate 595 near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.The crash was reported early Friday morning in the eastbound lanes of I-595 near U.S. Highway 1.According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver was taken to a hospital, where she later died.The north and southbound entrance ramps to I-595 from Interstate 95 were closed for several hours as a result of the crash.
