Car catches fire on Florida's Turnpike in Lauderhill

A car caught fire Friday afternoon on Florida's Turnpike, snarling traffic in the area.The fire was reported about 4 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Florida's Turnpike south of Sunrise Boulevard in Lauderhill.Lauderhill firefighters used a water hose to put out the flames.The cause of the fire wasn't immediately known.Southbound traffic was backed up all the way to Commercial Boulevard.Follow Local 10 News on Twitter @WPLGLocal10
