Tropical Storm Lala Lashes Hawaii’s Big Island Without Making Landfall

The storm brought damaging winds and widespread power outages as its eyewall grazed the southern part of the Big Island. One person was killed and two others were injured in a vehicle crash during the storm, a local official said.
