Businessman Richard Spencer hosts McCarthy reception

The main event starts at 5:30 p.m., though a half-hour earlier there's a $5,000 per couple private reception that includes a photo opportunity with McCarthy, a Bakersfield Republican. Checks are payable to the McCarthy Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee made up on Kevin McCarthy for Congress, the Majority Committee political action committee and the National Republican Congressional Committee. Democrats will do everything in their power to take back a House majority.
