Microgrid 'flips the switch' to renewable energy

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Thousands of floating solar panels started to generate electricity for the city on Wednesday as the Microgrid activates.Fort Wayne City Utilities workers have been laying the grid since September 2023.According to the press release, Mayor Sharon Tucker and City Utilities turned on the system at the City Utilities Wet Weather Ponds on the corner of Lake Avenue and Beacon Street.
