Fort Wayne Police investigate shooting after man tried to get into home

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a shooting near downtown after initially responding to break-in calls.
FWPD is investigating a shooting at 647 5th Street after shots were fired in response to a man attempting to get into a house.Upon responding to the initial calls FWPD found that a weapon had been discharged and that one person had been injured, according to Sergeant John Nichter at the scene.
