Fort Wayne air base making push for new fighter jet squadron
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — An Air National Guard fighter wing based in Fort Wayne is working to house a squadron of new F-35 fighter jets.
“For us, for our future and for the future of the Air Force, we are looking to be a successful site selection for F-35 basing when they make the next three rounds of basing decisions that are coming up within the next year,” said Col. Patrick Renwick, commander of the Air Guard’s 122nd Fighter Wing.
