Fort Wayne air base making push for new fighter jet squadron

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — An Air National Guard fighter wing based in Fort Wayne is working to house a squadron of new F-35 fighter jets.
“For us, for our future and for the future of the Air Force, we are looking to be a successful site selection for F-35 basing when they make the next three rounds of basing decisions that are coming up within the next year,” said Col.
